PSR (Pre Sentence Report)

We can not overstate the importance of the Pre Sentence Report (PSR). It will be the most important interview of your life. This document will have massive implications on the length of your sentence, your prison designations, who can visit you, medications you can receive and numerous other implications on your life.

Preparing a personal narrative to provide to the probation officer who conducts your PSR interview is critical to ensuring you get a report that accurately reflects your life story. Many of the questions asked in this interview are things you have not thought about or are difficult to speak about to a complete stranger. We explain the importance of being transparent and forthright with these issues and how it may impact the future stakeholders who view the report. ( Pre Trial Probation, Judge, Prosecution, Prison Case Manager, Half Way House Case Manager, Supervised Release Probation).

In the process of helping you create your personal narrative we will essentially be conducting a Pre PSR interview so your memory is fresh and accurate when you have your actual interview.

After your PSR is prepared you do have an opportunity to object to things in the report. It is critical that the offense conduct statement accurately describes events from a unbiased point of view and not a copy and paste from the charging document. As part of our services we will review your PSR and look for inaccuracies that will cause you issues from the BOP's point of view.
